Two of our professors attended the 2016 Association for Educational Communications and Technology Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada and received a third-place award for their research. Dr. Kun Huang and Dr. Sang Joon Lee were awarded a third-place Division of Distance Learning Burmeister Award for their study titled Examining the Relationship Between Learners Epistemic Beliefs and Perceptions of Online Learning. They also presented another study titled Social Presence in Distance Education, which was also well received by the audience. The Association for Educational Communications and Technology is a professional organization made up of thousands of educators and others who aim to improve instruction through technology. The Association hosts an annual convention that offers workshops, speakers, and networking to encourage professional renewal, growth, and transformation.
